Introduction
SHIFT 11 is a game inspired by Gabriele Cirulli's popular game 2048, but with one major difference, moving in the same direction repeatedly causes the blocks leaning against the wall to SHIFT to the other side of the board.
This was done to discourage a popular strategy of the original 2048, where players try to keep the higher blocks in a corner, as it would prevent situations where you can't combine blocks with the same number because they are other blocks in the way.
While the original 2048 is still fun, even with this strategy, I always found the game to be more interesting when playing with a scrambled board. I especially like the feeling when you manage to fix a messy board.
In this game whoever, that strategy will result in an even messier board as blocks get SHIFTED around the other side, this may cause them to be scrambled, but it also gives perceptive players many chances to get separated blocks back together.
This makes for a thrilling experience where the board is constantly changes from messy to organized as you try to create an 11 block!
It is also possible to UNDO moves so that casual players can more easily than goal. High score with and without UNDOs are tracked independently, so that players my try to complete both.
Thank you for playing my little game.
How to Play
- Use WASD or the Arrow Keys you can move all blocks and the SHIFT indicator in that direction.
- Imputing the same direction will cause the 4 blocks on the highlighted edge to SHIFT to the other side. A normal move will then be executed afterward.
- You can only change the SHIFT direction can only be done on valid moves.
- It is possible to Undo moves indefinably with E, but doing so mark your score, and prevent a "Clean" Victory.
- The game tracks "Clean" and "Unclean" high scores separately.
- The game can be restarted with R by pressing the buttons on screen.
